Frou Frou Release “Guitar Song (Live),” First New Music in 15 Years

    By Dom VigilApril 24, 2019

Los Angeles pop-punk trio PVMNTS have solidified their place in the scene with their energetic and timeless debut EP, Better Days. The release, which draws obvious influence from early 2000’s pop-punk, is brimming with emotion and energy from start to finish.

Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth have teamed up again to release a Frou Frou track “Guitar Song (Live)” today via Linda Perry and Kerry Brown’s label, We Are Hear. After amicably disbanding in 2004, Heap and Sigsworth reunited in 2018 to tour as Frou Frou in conjunction with the Mycelia World Tour. The beautiful acoustic ballad serves as a sensational reminder of the creative spark between the British electronic duo. On the new song, Heap’s signature ethereal vocals curl around the strum of textured guitar melodies as she sings about an all consuming connection between two friends who are destined to be lovers.

Heap shares, “So happy to be releasing dear Guitar Song with Guy, as Frou Frou. Our first in over 15 years and with the awesome label, We Are Hear. We never really got to tour as Frou Frou that much but we are making up for it and opening every show on this World Tour we are on with this song.” Sigsworth adds, “Guitar Song: it’s a song – with guitar! Easy, breezy and summery. Like João Gilberto playing shoegazer music. Or something :)”

The new release comes just after a panel with Linda Perry at Berklee College of Music last Thursday, April 11 where the two industry innovators discussed their work and the community power needed to propel positive advancements for creators. Heap and Perry also spoke with WBUR, Boston’s NPR affiliate offering more insight on last week’s event.

Recognized for creative works including Hide and Seek and Tiny Human, Heap embarked on her first world tour in eight years in Europe in the fall of 2018. The Mycelia World Tour kicks off its 10-city North American leg of the tour on April 28 in Miami. With a carefully curated line-up of concerts, talks and hosted events, she plans to bring together content creators, fans and the industry in a unique and innovative format.
