Great Good Fine Ok are back with another earworm single – which has come to be expected from the Brooklyn-based synth-pop duo. The delicate track, Gone, explores the feelings of loss and in an authentic and powerful way. The pair collaborated with LA pop-quartet Transviolet on the tune, which is bound to tug at listeners heartstrings.
When asked about the inspiration behind Gone, singer Jon Sandler shared, “Gone started out as a breakup song, but evolved into a more general salute to any kind of loss. The feeling of now youre gone, and I dont feel very much like me is something Ive felt many times in the past year. I recently lost my father and my cat. We wrote this song before those things happened, and despite many of the lyrics being about a failed relationship, I cant hear or sing the song without thinking of these losses. In that sense, for me personally, it feels like our most meaningful song.”
Gone, along with Great Good Fine Oks recent singles like Easy and Change, will be on the Brooklyn-based pairs highly anticipated new EP, GGFOUR, due out June 28th via Ultra Music. Fans will get to experience the new tunes live during Great Good Fine Oks US headline tour, kicking off today, May 31st, with alt-pop opener Vesperteen. The tour ends on release day in the duos hometown of Brooklyn, so fans attending the Music Hall of Williamsburg show will be in for a celebratory evening!
