If you have spent time in Rockaway Beach, Queens, odds are you’ve heard of Skells. As four lifelong friends who grew up in Rockaway, Skells have been a trendsetter and favorite of the local scene for years. Despite the diverse tastes of the band’s members, Skells sound came together through a shared love of 1960’s surf rock. This common musical bond is apparent in the way their recent Dinosaur Village EP pays homage to the reverb-drenched guitars and drum rolls of that period. In the three years that they’ve been performing, they’ve developed a dedicated following of friends, neighbors, beach-goers and strangers alike around their energetic performances.
Stay tuned for more information and shows as we get closer to the June 14th release date!
