Cisco Adler welcomes you to Hippieland, the start of a new artist chapter, uncovering the core of who he is as a music man – one with freedom of expression, freedom of self, and freedom from inhibitions. Influenced by his pre-internet secluded island life as a child in Maui growing up barefoot and fancy free, Hippieland comes to life on songs like “Somethin’ More” with back-up vocals from longtime friends and collaborators Mike Posner and Cody Simpson, which was featured on Apple Music’s Beat of the Week playlist, along with “Sunday Vibe” featuring Jamtown cohort G. Love which is featured on Spotify‘s Soak Up The Sunand Beach Vibes playlists. Holing up at his seaside Bananabeat Studios in Malibu, Cisco personally wrote and produced the entire album in addition to performing vocals, acoustic, bass, and drums with collaborator Martin Estrada on electric guitar. Hippielandis a snapshot of Cisco’s essence while allowing him to speak his truth as an artist in music and life from the carefree “Sunday Vibe” featuring G. Love to surf-rocking swagger track “High Tide Again” and the blissfully sweet “Everyday Love” to the stripped down, live performance of “Limousine Driver” which finds Cisco with just his guitar and a song. As a genre-hopping creative, Cisco Adler has built a celebrated career working across the entertainment industry in many roles, but it is his own artistry that provides the most personal glimpse into Cisco. His teen years spent as a hip-hop head serve as the basis for his rap-like lyrical inspiration and growing up in between the canyons and beaches of Malibu and Maui is the backdrop that frames his perspective and voice. Cisco Adler sounds like a summer day in California with catchy hooks, clever lyrics and breezy melodies that continue to connect with a worldwide community of fans.
Among his many musical projects, Cisco hit the charts with his duo Shwayze and their Top 40 beach-rap take over with their ubiquitous summer jams “Buzzin'” and “Corona and Lime” and collaborated with G. Love and Donavon Frankenreiter for their Americana-meets-surf rock project Jamtown. Cisco had a Top 5 Alternative Rock hit with Mickey Avalon‘s “Jane Fonda” and a bonafide cult classic with Dirt Nasty‘s “1980” helping to shape an LA movement and cementing his status as the new keeper of the California sound. Cisco’s wide-ranging catalogue encompasses work with the likes of Mike Posner, Adam Lambert, G-Eazy, The Internet, Vic Mensa, Fergie, Tinashe, Gnash, Cody Simpson, and more. He landed a track on The Hangover Soundtrack with Lil Jon and several other major film syncs, and also produced the soundtrack to FOX’s reimagined version of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again. Cisco’s label Bananabeat Records is a talent incubator and cultural collective based in Malibu.
