Of Monsters and Men have teamed up with Vevo to release the live performances of their new single “Alligator” and smash hit “Little Talks.” Of Monsters and Men went from the talk of Iceland to the top of the global conversation on their 2011 debut, My Head Is An Animal. Not only did the record go platinum, but it also produced an international smash in the form of “Little Talks.” The breakthrough single earned a quintuple-platinum certification from the RIAA and landed them a performance on Saturday Night Live.
In the midst of this rapid rise, their 2015 album Beneath The Skin bowed in the Top three of the Billboard Top 200, and the band cameoed in an episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones that same year. Beneath The Skin catapulted them around the world even more, and contributed to making history as the first Icelandic band to cross one billion streams on Spotify. While none of this is regrettable, the fivesome began to realize that their trajectory has been relentless ever since “Little Talks,” and that everything up until 2017 had somewhat existed to serve that initial momentum. The past two years have allowed them to re-posture, re- group and step away from a reaction stance. They’ve learned not just who they are as musicians but how to fall in love with music again.
Of Monsters and Men’s new single “Alligator,” off their forthcoming album FEVER DREAM (July 26th, Republic Records) is a huge anthem that’s all thumping drums, brimming guitars and a call-to-arms chorus about taking control. Rolling Stone applauds their sonic evolution on “Alligator,” praising it as “a much harder and kinetic sound than the folk-pop of Of Monsters & Men’s 2011 debut My Head Is An Animal, demonstrating an evolution from their whimsical breakout hit ‘Little Talks’ to a more mature musical identity.”
“Alligator” and “Little Talks” are now streaming on all platforms, and catch Of Monsters and men live on their North American tour this summer. Keep up with exclusive content from artists all over the world at YouTube.com/Vevo.
