Fresh off her stint at Lollapalooza, which included an incredibly energetic DJ set and special gaming activation with fellow pro-gamer Ninja, it’s apparent that the digital and physical worlds are all rallying behind CRAY. The Vancouver-born / LA-based singer, DJ, producer, and gamer has been building an impressive career that spans the entertainment industry. Using her growing Twitch livestream following to test out DJ sets and original pop-leaning music, CRAY has activated an ever-growing and hyper-dedicated fanbase.
Leveling up and signing with Ultra Music, CRAY has been grinding in the studio on a new EP and is now ready to unlock new tunes for fans. First up is “idontwannatalkaboutlove” – a total dark -pop vibe exuding themes of empowerment and authenticity.
When asked about the inspiration behind the track, CRAY shared, “The title says it all. I don’t want to talk about love. I wrote this song sharing my frustrations with how I felt my story or my music was being overshadowed by my love life. So many people would tell me any relationship I’m in was ‘goals’ or perfect, but it was really nothing like that on the inside. Everything looks pretty from afar.
She adds, “I feel like in our society it’s so easy to get caught up on needing to find love and it to be a huge portion of your life. But finding who you are, and being passionate about what you want to do, is so much more important. Stay true to yourself and do not let anything or anyone overshadow who you are.”
