“Animator”, the title track off the Los Angeles-based alt-pop trio Mint Trip’s upcoming full-length album, is out today, Friday, August 16th. With elaborate drum patterns and colorful layers of guitar and synths, the single sets the tone for the rest of the album by enticing listeners with the luring voice of lead singer Amy Gionfriddo and lyrics about our multidimensional, complex personalities.
Regarding the thematic message of “Animator”, the band notes, “Some people get right to the point when they tell a story. Others get lost in the details. This song is an ode to the latter who tend to hold their prisoners captive in conversation.”
The single was recorded at Eldorado Recording Studio in Burbank, CA and was co-produced by Phil English and the band.
The band’s upcoming album, Animator will be released on September 6, 2019 via Blue Élan Records. To celebrate, Mint Trip will perform at Madame Siam in Hollywood, CA on Saturday, September 14th.
