Tycho has marked the release of their acclaimed new album, WEATHER, by unveiling an equally innovative new web app. “Forecast” creates a unique, personalized experience which connects users to the themes, visuals, and sounds of WEATHER by generating original playlists coordinated with local weather forecasts. Users can then login to either Spotify or Apple Music where they can save and share the playlist to their account. Return visits to “Foreacast” will continue to produce distinctive playlists for varying atmospheric phenomenon. Created exclusively for Tycho by groundbreaking designer/developer Lee Martin, “Forecast” is available now on the web.
EXPERIENCE “FORECAST
Today also sees the premiere of an exclusive new remix of WEATHER’s “Pink & Blue” created by GRAMMY® Award-winning DJ/producer RAC. “Pink & Blue (RAC Mix)” is available today at all DSPs and streaming services.
“I’ve been following Scott’s work as a designer since 2007, so when I first heard his music I was immediately drawn to it,” RAC says. “I see a lot of parallels in the sonic choices and his own aesthetic. One of my favorite things to do is see artists progress over time and develop their techniques. I think this new Tycho album with vocals is such a nice step in that trajectory. I was thrilled to be a part of this remix package because this song immediately jumped out at me. My natural inclination is to make it a bit poppier whereas the original is more introspective. The chord progression from the verse felt really good to me so I decided to loop it and build the track around that.”
The follow-up to 2016’s chart-topping, GRAMMY® Award-nominated EPOCH, WEATHER includes the acclaimed singles, “Easy,” “Japan,” and “Pink & Blue,” all available now for individual streaming and download. An array of official companion videos and lyric visualizers can be found now at the official Tycho YouTube channel.
WEATHER – which features vocals throughout from singer-songwriter Saint Sinner (a.k.a. Hannah Cottrell) – was greeted by immediate international acclaim upon its release last month.
