Indie darling Freda James is unveiling the official music video for “Just Like Wind,” the lead single off her newly released debut EP, A Woman Alone. Directed by photographer James Bianchi with art direction from Freda herself, the visual is a fast-paced, fanciful whirlwind of spliced footage of Freda. Mimicking much of her own music, the “Just Like Wind” video diverts from traditional structure in order to create something that is truly magical.
Freda James’ debut EP, A Woman Alone, was released on July 19th to instant praise from the likes of EARMILK, Gold Hand Girls, and Aesthetica Magazine. The EP is presented as a collection of sonic diary entries chronicling Freda’s discovery of self-empowerment and womanhood. The resulting sound is as a breath of fresh air in the indie-pop landscape, fusing elements of jazz, disco, R&B and pop influences to create a captivating sonic experience.
Last week, Freda unveiled “Her Hymn,” a frenetic, jazz-inflicted bonus track, creating the perfect conclusion to the A Woman Alone EP. It’s available to stream on Spotify & Soundcloud now.
