Alexander 23 made his debut earlier this year with “Dirty AF1s,” which was Apple Music’s “Bop of The Week” and has now amassed over 5.5 million cumulative streams. Today, he’s back with his latest song, “High School”.
On the nostalgic track, the up-and-coming artist focuses on the mishaps and growing pains we experience flourishing into adulthood. He sings over soft, blissful keys, questioning, “how did we get here and how do we get back?” The lyric video showcases footage of Alexander throughout the years – a time capsule of clips doing what he does best, perform.
Alexander 23 recently played his debut festival in his hometown of Chicago, at Lollapalooza, where Grammy.com declared him as one of their “Breakout Acts.” This fall he’s set to open for singer mxmtoon, as well as play a string of dates including New York, Boston and Atlanta, with Omar Apollo in December. Although he’s a newcomer, Bustle acknowledged him “making a splash” by contributing his song “Another Summer Night Without You” on the 13 Reasons Why (Season 3) Soundtrack. Alexander 23 will continue work on and release music throughout the year. Let me know what you think, have a great weekend!
