British pop outliers push baby announce the release of their debut EP, woah [School Boy Records/Republic Records]—coming September 27, 2019. The announcement comes as the band drops the lyric video for their latest single “thor,” which highlights the song’s introspective lyrics. Listen to the song now below.
On their latest single, push baby once again deliver a song evocative of their quirky and distinctive take on pop. “With “thor” I wanted to share a vulnerability not often voiced from a male perspective. The song touches on themes of toxic masculinity- unrealistic expectations and stereotypes set for males which contribute to insecurities, especially as it relates to body image and expressing one’s emotions,” said front man Jake Roche. Earlier this year, the band released a video for “thor” which they decided to officially release as a single this week following popular fan demand.

Much like its namesake, “thor” drops the hammer on all convention and expectation…
Yesterday, the boys spoke to Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 at length about their plans for the rest of the fall. Check out the full interview here!
Re-imagined, re-envisioned, and recharged as push baby, the group’s four musicians—Jake Roche [vocals, guitar], Charley Bagnall [guitar], Danny Wilkin [bass, keys], and Lewi Morgan [drums]—first joined forces for multiplatinum pop phenomenon Rixton. Despite their early success, the band wasn’t satisfied with the image they had presented to the world and decided to stop making music and touring. Following a four-year hiatus, they return as push baby—a completely new band that honestly represents who they are as artists for the very first time.
