Julia Michaels has released a standalone track, “If You Need Me”, inspired by Season 2 of the acclaimed and powerful Facebook Watch original series Sorry For Your Loss. Listen to the song now below.
Julia’s inspiration for the track came from meeting and hearing from survivors of grief- all of whom formed an emotional bond of shared experience in the Sorry For Your Loss official Facebook Group. Since the first season, the group has evolved into a place where a community has gathered to share their stories, support one another and build connections as a direct result of these conversations.
Says Julia: “Even when someone is not with you, you can still feel them with you. I wanted the chorus to be “If you need me, I’m there”… even if I can’t physically be there, I’m still there. That can be about the person that isn’t visibly here anymore, and it can be about the community they have built within Sorry For Your Loss.”
Additional content of Julia’s meeting with the survivors, as well as a special performance video, will be released in the coming weeks.
“If You Need Me” arrives following Julia’s latest EP release, Inner Monologue Part 2.
Julia will bring the EP to life on the second leg of THE INNER MONOLOGUE TOUR – currently playing 17 shows across Europe, with the US leg kicking off on October 16 in Tempe, AZ and stopping coast-to-coast. Tickets are on-sale now HERE.
