    By Dom VigilSeptember 20, 2019

beabadoobee has released a grungy ode to Pavement’s legendary singer, one of her biggest inspirations, in her latest single titled “I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus.” Listen to the song now below.

The second single from Bea’s forthcoming EP Space Cadet, due October 18 via Dirty Hit Records, drops days before the launch of her first ever North American tour. She is set to headline the Pigeon and Planes “No Ceilings” showcase at Chelsea Music Hall in New York on September 26 before joining Clairo’s Immunity Tour September 28 in Chicago.

The Immunity dates will serve as beabadoobee’s live American debut, giving fans their initial look at the songs from her most recent EP, Loveworm, which Billboard said “reads like a diary entry of perfectly-captured teenage angst.”It is her raw transparency that has captured the trust and attention of her Gen-Z fanbase, and Khalid, who grabbed onto her with white-knuckled grip and rocketed her to over 36 million streams on Spotify. The trajectory of “Disappear” and Loveworm, were championed by Paper, Complex, Pigeons and Planes, Highsnobiety, Noisey, Nylon, The Fader, and Billboard, capture Beabadoobee’s clear sustainability and showcased her launch into pop-stardom. Loveworm is out now on Dirty Hit Records – PRESS HERE to listen.
