Big Wild Announces “Superdream: Analog Sessions” EP and Shares “No Words (Analog Sessions)”

    By Dom VigilSeptember 27, 2019

Following the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Superdream, singer, songwriter and producer, Big Wild (aka Jackson Stell) has announced the release of Superdream: Analog Sessions. The collection is due out October 4, 2019 via Counter Records. Listen to the first single “No Words (Analog Sessions)” now below.

The acoustic EP introduces fans to an entirely new side of Big Wild as he ventures earnestly into new musical frontiers, demonstrating his versatility & prowess as an artist. The project features fresh interpretations of five popular tracks from the original version of Superdream. With the production distilled in a way like never before, Superdream: Analog Sessions allows his vocals and instrumentation to shine through in a striking new light. The result is a breakthrough undertaking for Big Wild.

“I worked on peeling away the production from my favorite songs off the album so that what remained was intimate and raw.” Big Wild states, “I love how Superdream: Analog Sessions feels like a completely original body of work even though it’s based off the album.”

He continues,”I’ve always imagined ‘No Words‘ as a vocals, guitar, open mic night type of song and the Analog Sessions captures that intimacy. This version is a balancing act between rawness and refinement, which to me, is at the core of the song.”

    ‘Superdream: Analog Sessions’ Track listing:

    1. No Words (Analog Sessions)

    2. City of Sound (Analog Sessions)

    3. Maker (Analog Sessions)

    4. Purple Sand (My Home) [Analog Sessions]

    5. 6’s to 9’s (feat. Rationale) [Analog Sessions]

Last week, Big Wild celebrated the end of summer with a sold-out show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and recently he announced a massive performance at renowned Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. He will head back out on the road this October & November for a fall headline tour comprised of over 20 dates across North America with his cinematic blend of rich electronica, slick retro synths, and signature deep 80’s-wave sounds. The Superdream Tour sees Stell bringing the album to life via a brand-new live show, replete with live instrumentation & accompanying vocalists, and paired with fresh visuals, with support from EVAN GIIA and Ark Patrol. Big Wild’s debut album, Superdream, released this past February via Counter Records, has received high praise from NPR and Billboard, and has amassed over 30M streams thus far. Superdream finds Big Wild expanding his world of sound as he crafts hills and valleys of increasingly lush production, and for the first time in his career, he’s the voice guiding the listener on their musical journey.
