Marianas Trench have released the absolutely ridiculous new music video for their single “Don’t Miss Me?”. The song comes from the band’s latest studio album, Phantoms, which reached #1 in the iTunes US charts upon release.
Shot in Studio 6 in Vancouver, the video captures the fun side of the band: what starts as a serious and moody performance video eventually turns into an adorable – and then hilariously absurd visual, featuring a cast of cute puppies in a series of vignettes alongside a performance by the band. Says guitarist Matt Webb, “as far as I know, [lead singer] Josh always dreamed of doing a ridiculously silly video for a very serious ballad. Enter cute puppies. There isn’t much more to it than that!”
Marianas Trench recently wrapped the second leg of their Suspending Gravity US tour, which made stops in major cities like san Diego, Phoenix, Baltimore and New Haven. The tour featured material from Marianas Trench’s new studio album Phantoms, in addition to fan favorite hits from their previous double platinum and gold-selling albums. The shows were held at venues that gave the fans more of an up-close-and-personal live experience.
Since their 2006 debut, Fix Me, Marianas Trench have had two certified, double platinum-selling records (Masterpiece Theatre, Ever After) and two certified gold-selling albums with chart topping hits including ‘Rhythm Of Your Heart’ (which was included in Taylor Swift’s Favorite Songs playlist on Spotify!), ‘Haven’t Had Enough,’ and ‘Who Do You Love.’ Along with double platinum and gold digital singles, the band has also garnered multiple SOCAN and MMVA Awards, number 1 videos, JUNO Award nominations and won the 2013 JUNO Award for Group of the Year. Frontman Josh Ramsay also received a GRAMMY nomination in 2013 for co-writing and producing Carly Rae Jepsen’s international breakthrough smash and certified US diamond selling single “Call Me Maybe.”
