Boy In Space has released a haunting live video for his latest single, “Drown“. Watch the video now below.
Placing his masterfully-tender vocals over gentle piano, Robin Lundbäck builds “Drown” through a heartbreaking journey of personal loss, creating an emotionally-charged confessional in which he candidly admits how the song’s subject sunk his ship, then let him drown. The video highlights the orchestra approach in Boy In Space‘s writing style, stripping back his atmospheric aura to illustrate the depth and precision in his lyrics. Like previous single “7UP” (PRESS HERE) and “Cold” (PRESS HERE), “Drown” highlights personal and intimate life experiences through Lundbäck’s cinematic lyrics. Having released only a handful of songs since his emergence in 2018, this candid approach to songwriting has propelled Boy In Space to over 17 million streams on Spotify alone.
Boy In Space will be joining singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin on the “Caught In The Middle” European tour which kicks off on November 3rd in Helsinki, Finland and wraps on November 28thin Dublin, Ireland. Tickets are on sale now. Full routing below. For more information visit https://alecbenjamin.com/tour/.
The moniker ” Boy In Space” itself is a metaphor for how he navigates and untangles these emotions. “I can be crazy and all over the place at times. I was always the class clown in school and although I got along with everyone, I was never really at the top of the class,” he says. “So ‘ Boy In Space‘ has a very literal meaning to it. Although my songs can be sad, if you meet me, you’ll find that I’m full of energy and actually pretty happy (most of the time). So in a not so literal way, Boy In Space has become the space where I’m able to go to express those sad and darker feelings.”
