Los Angeles eclectic psych-rock quintet, Dream Phases have shared their latest single and album opener “Mysterious”. Taken from their upcoming full-length So Long, Yesterday, due out this Friday, the track twists the signature riff of the Rolling Stones’ “Brown Sugar” into a watery, hypnotic pop anthem. With shimmering harmonies and a soft but catchy hook, “Mysterious” draws heavily on retro-psychedelic aesthetics. You can stream it here and preorder So Long, Yesterday here which is set to be released on Friday, October 18th, 2019 in partnership with Nomad Eel Records and Lunar Ruins.
Singer/guitarist Brandon Graham says about the track: “The song is about my last relationship and how my ex would always say she wanted to be mysterious to keep things interesting and exciting. The rest of the lyrics deal with the different aspects of our differing personalities. She was too kind and honest to be mysterious. This was one of the newer songs and one of the last songs recorded for the record. We recorded most of the song at our home studios and then sent it in to be mixed by Mike Post.”
So Long, Yesterday will mark a bold new chapter in the five-piece’s three-year history that has already seen the band’s following grow beyond their native Los Angeles to reach an international audience of fans anxiously awaiting their official debut. In addition to announcing their debut full length, Dream Phases will embark on a European tour spanning from the UK to Italy. Find a full list of tour dates below.
