Scottish gloom-metal band Lotus Eater have teamed up with Chicago indie hip-hop artist, Freddie Sunshine, to drop a brand new remix called “Freaks” today. Yet another example of how this band is not playing by any rules, the new song from the five-piece is explosive and brings together Metal, EDM and Hip Hop genres. Fans can stream “Freaks” today at smarturl.it/LotusEaterFreaks.
In addition, Lotus Eater teamed up with TRASH to premiere the AMV for “Freaks” on the TRASH YouTube channel (2.1M+ subscribers). Fans can watch the video now below.
This is the first new music since the release of the band’s EP Social Hazard on Hopeless Records in March of this year.
Hailing from the streets of Glasgow, Lotus Eater formed in 2016 after parting various projects to create a gloom force to be reckoned with. The quintet combine remorseless, down-tuned groove and claustrophobic atmosphere to utterly traumatizing effect. In just two years of forming, the band has already dropped a successful debut self-titled EP (2017) that has won them legions of fans. The band has also gone on to tour with the likes of Bad Omens, Oceans ate Alaska, Loathe, Heart Of A Coward, Traitors and Secrets. They are only just getting started.
