Metalcore quintet Hostile Array have released a new single and music video titled, “Paranoia“. While the band has found themselves evolving sonically, the socially conscious lyrical passion displayed in their debut album, is still very apparent. Their latest single deals with the psychology of fear, and how it relates to political and social division in society.
“Paranoia, by definition, is a thought process rooted in anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality or delusion” explains vocalist Brendan Frey. “I think that’s why there has been such a resurgence in hateful rhetoric. I believe that this comes from a fear of change. This fear emboldens hate groups, and individuals, to commit what most of us would consider atrocities, and at a smaller level, this same fear can also be found in many of our places of worship, neighborhoods, and families”.
