Nashville indie rockers Colony House unveil their single “Original Material” off their third studio album Leave What’s Lost Behind out January 24, 2020. Listen to the song now below.
The only thing I have to offer that is truly “original” is myself. I know this to be true but don’t always believe it. “Original Material” is about the ongoing fight to get out of my own way. – Caleb Chapman
Tying into the upcoming album, the band will embark on their 2020 Leave What’s Lost Behind Headline Tour. The band will hit major cities across the U.S. withspecial guest Tyson Motsenbocker. PRESS HERE for more details and to purchase tickets.
A confluence of serendipity, fate, and inspiration led the band back to their roots lyrically. Leave What’s Left Behind incorporates a storied family history going back generations mixed with folklore surrounding a runaway to create an album worthy of being a classic novel. The band teamed up with Ben Shive, who produced Colony House’s debut album When I Was Younger, to tap into the freedom of their formative years as a band.
Colony House quietly steamrolled into the mainstream on their 2014 full-length debut, When I Was Younger, with its lead single “Silhouettes” becoming the #1 most-played track on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation for four consecutive months. In between constant touring and performances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, CONAN, and Today, 2017’s Only The Lonely yielded fan favorites “You Know It” and “You & I.” Not to mention, they garnered widespread praise from New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Paste, Clash, Huffington Post, A.V. Club, Earmilk, and many others. After nearly two years of solid touring without recording, the musicians found themselves at a crossroads in 2018. They transitioned out of the major label system and went back to the beginning, to their roots.
Stay tuned for more exciting news and music from Colony House in the coming weeks!
