Beabadoobee Releases Spotify Singles & Covers Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me”

    By Dom VigilNovember 20, 2019

Bedroom-pop artist beabadoobee has released cover of Simple Minds’ 80s classic “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” a track best known for soundtracking John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club. Recorded earlier this year at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, the cover arrives alongside a stripped back, acoustic version of her single “She Plays Bass” through the Spotify Singles series. Listen now below.

This release comes on the heels of a massive 2019 for Bea. She has accumulated over 3 million views on “If You Want To” (PRESS HERE to watch) and 1 million+ on “She Plays Bass” (PRESS HERE to watch). The releases of her critically praised Loveworm and Space Cadet EPs garnered attention from publications like The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue, The Fader, Billboard, Noisey, Stereogum, i-D, Complex and Paper and from artists like Stephen Malkmus and Khalid. She also opened for Clairo on the Immunity tour. She’ll close the year in the U.K. by joining the Dirty Hit U.K. tour with No Rome and Oscar Lang and start 2020 by joining her labelmates The 1975 on their February and March UK arena tour. And then back to North America to take part in SXSW in Austin, Texas.
