“‘Somewhere Blue” is a song I really care about. I think we all feel our share of hope and longing in this life, sometimes for things we don’t even understand, but the hope is always there,” says roots rock veteran CHRIS BERARDO about his brand new song “Somewhere Blue”. “We all struggle with loss, and I’m sad to say I’ve had my share over the last couple of years. It’s an ‘adult dose’ and of course it’s going to have a big impact.” You can listen to “Somewhere Blue” here.
The song is a long time coming for Chris, as “Somewhere Blue” is his first new release since 2013. Produced by David Abeyta (Reckless Kelly), this touching piece of heartland rock will tug on your heartstrings. The power ballad about heartbreak and loss is counterbalanced by the slide guitar sighing alongside Berardo’s powerful voice, breathing relief into the moving lyrics. The track climaxes with Chris somberly expressing that he will find solace again “Somewhere Blue,” before it bursts into an uplifting guitar solo that continues to play in the background as it goes into one last chorus. This standalone single is a perfect reintroduction to Chris and serves as a primer before he unveils more details for his upcoming album Wilder All The Time, which will consist of 10 additional new cuts, in 2020.
“I think the song may also be about how we can dream of a time or a place that may be real or may be in your mind, where the things that mean the most in our hearts and souls will align and we’ll find the place where things feel right,” continues Chris about the meaning of the song. “I hope maybe folks will have a listen, raise a glass, and clear their hearts and heads for a few minutes.”
Having released three critically acclaimed CDs and toured much of the country, New York native Chris Berardo and his band The DesBerardos have both headlined and appeared as Special Guests of artists such as The Doobie Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, Dickey Betts & Great Southern, America, and many more.
With his new album Wilder All The Time releasing in 2020, Chris shares “It has been a long time since we put out a record. The world doesn’t NEED more records just to have them – I wanted to be sure that I felt like I really had something to say. In the meantime me and the guys never stopped touring and searching for high adventure”.
The signature harmonies, jangly guitars, and beautiful acoustic moments of this single and the upcoming album remain, bolstered by a rock foundation that is, “More the way we are live than we have sounded before,” according to Chris.
