Now, Now have shared their new single “Lonely Christmas” capping off a great 2019 that saw them continue to tour in support of their critically acclaimed album SAVED, including a co-headline tour with Foxing this spring/summer and dates this fall with Maggie Rogers. “Lonely Christmas” is streaming everywhere now, and a sure bet for your holiday playlist.
“This song came about because I always get really lonely and bummed out during the holidays,” says Now, Now’s KC, “I try every year to overcome that, so writing this song is another attempt to reclaim the magic of the season.”
“I had the initial concept idea for this song two years ago while sitting in my car by myself listening to the Christmas station on the radio. The world around me was sparkling and cheerful but I couldn’t feel it. So I wanted us to capture that feeling and write a song for anyone else out there who may also be experiencing that. I always loved the freedom in Christmas music. Nothing is too much. Nothing is too far. Nothing is too joyous. Nothing is too desperate. I can openly plead with someone to not break my heart in the name of Christmas.”
Now, Now has had no shortage of critical acclaim for their latest album SAVED (Trans Records), winning inclusions on multiple Best of 2018 album and single lists at publications including FADER, GQ, NPR Music, Billboard, Idolator, and many others. Aside from their new single “Enda”, the band are also featured on Jai Wolf’s “Around The World”, a song from his debut album The Cure To Loneliness, released last week.
