Los Angeles, California’s CONTRACULT Collective have announced their signing to Roadrunner Records and shared two singles – “Hogtied” and a reimagined version of Hole’s “Violet.” Co-produced by CONTRACULT Collective and Josh Schroeder, both tracks are available today on all streaming platforms with “Violet” joined by a music video streaming now on the band’s YouTube channel.
CONTRACULT Collective commented on the signing and new music stating, “We’ve worked harder than we ever have in our lives with Roadrunner on this to create the band we needed to exist. This is for the true freaks.”
This Saturday, February 1st, CONTRACULT Collective will make their live debut supporting Gost at The Echo in Los Angeles, California. Tickets are on sale now with more live dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
Comprised of members Svart and Cultprit, CONTRACULT Collective push the limits of their voices and bodies through a storm of electronics, guitars, and blackened noir. “Hogtied” and “Violet” find the duo exploring the connections between metallic coldness and mechanized currents, while finding comfort in misery-soaked memories. The two tracks stand as a sinister amalgam of their influences and as a precursor to a larger body of work expected later this year.
