Pasha and Coucheron have teamed up to release their new single, “Nobody” from the upcoming Lighthouse EP, set to be released this summer. The powerful track combines Coucheron’s epic synth arsenal with Pasha’s playful vocal performance, which culminates into a dreamy and hard-hitting atmosphere. Wrapped in nostalgia and melancholy, “Nobody” serves as one of the most honest tracks on the project, combining powerful percussion with delicate vocal hooks.
Combining Coucheron’s signature “one eyed” character with Pasha’s notorious ‘fro, the team has developed a female 3d animated persona from scratch to take center in the artists’ visual profile and the projects storyline. Combining the worlds of Pasha and Coucheron, they felt they had to create an alternate reality, using 3D animation. Edited together with real life video takes, the visual profile is packed with trippy, euphoric elements in a carefully crafted universe.
Teaming up with multimedia collective HUGE, the gang has long been developing the visual aspect of the project. All through the artwork, photos, music videos and merchandise, Pasha, Coucheron and HUGE has been developing an alternate reality, crafted with state of the art animation to not only represent the project visually, but to add layers to the very stories told through the upcoming project.
Pasha and Coucheron has already built a solid standing in each of their respective fields. Pasha came up through the Norwegian underground hip hop scene, crafting his skills and showcasing his live performances through every opportunity he got. Buzzing through word of mouth as well as through praise among international tastemakers such as NME, Ebro on Beats 1 Radio and Highsnobiety, Pasha’s explosive energy eventually caught the attention of international festival bookers, securing spots at the line up at festivals such as SXSW, Kadetten, X GAMES and Appletree Garden to name a few. With songs such as “Colorblind” and “I Don’t Speak French”, Pasha has now millions of streams, a strong, recognizable brand in Scandinavia and making his first moves into the U.S. and rest of Europe while being nominated for “Live Act of the Year” at this year’s P3 GULL.
Coucheron built his reputation in the studio; signing to Atlantic Records at the age of 18 after multiple chart-topping remixes over at Hype Machine, the young producer and artist became a go to guy for some of the hottest international A-listers. Producing for artists such as Kehlani, Nick Jonas and Don Diablo, Coucheron quickly made a name for himself and later rolled out his first original tracks, charting on college in Germany, the U.S. and Norway in addition to harvesting millions of streams across all platforms. Touring Norway and the U.S., the artists became notorious for his upbeat sets, setting fire to dancefloors while releasing tracks guesting the likes Mayor Hawthorne, Matoma and Sval to name a few.
Deciding to combine Pasha’s retro flavored, upbeat bars with Coucheron’s playful approach to electronic dance music, the guys isolated themselves into a cabin in the Norwegian mountains to craft something special for both of them. Serving as a creative outlet for ideas too radical for them to pursue on their own, they decided to dig into the project as equals, combining the madness through a coherent but including approach. Creating an entire universe of sounds and references, we’re pleased to see them release and perform the project as equals as well, this coming spring and summer.
The project became a melting pot made with ingredients of disco, french house, 90’s hip hop and modern electronic, hard hitting trap. With elements touching upon literally every part of the emotional spectrum, the project is filled with vibes of pure nostalgia, reminiscent of the work of Gorillaz and Basement Jaxx.
