Duo Vega HeartBreak & M.C have released their emotional track “Monday” ft Young Marlee Mar. Watch the video now below!
Penning the song for his late mother, M.C reflects, “This has been heavy on my heart, so it was nothing that I had to prepare for, once I heard the music, meaning the beat, the words just poured out of me. The hardest part was actually recording the record. Putting the words together, yes, I had some rough moments emotionally but actually verbalizing them was extremely tough. I lost it a few times in the recording process where I couldn’t control my emotions. ‘Monday’ provided some therapy.”
The artist decided to release the track after urging from family and friends. “We initially released it privately on the anniversary of my mom’s passing, I didn’t write the record thinking it would be released to the masses. I received so many emotional and touching text messages, people even called me crying, from my family urging me to release it. I had no clue the record would hit so deep to others.” He continues, “I view my mom as a legend, she’s solidified but I wanted to honor her in a way that brought comfort to others that are dealing with the loss of a loved one. It’s OK to hurt.”
When M.C originally broke onto the music scene he had a sound like none other. One of his key ingredients was a then fourteen-year-old producer by the name of Vega HeartBreak. Collectively, the duo has created music for names like Jeezy, Akon, Yo Gotti, Maxwell, Kanye West, Drake, Rocko, Lloyd, Twista, Mia X, The St. Lunatics, Chingy & DJ Noize. Their chemistry is organic and as they continue to work seamlessly together, could be compared to some of the greats in the industry like Snoop Dog & Dr. Dre,Timberland & Missy, Juvenile & Mannie Fresh, and many others.
Several years later, their dynamic hasn’t changed. “Monday,” like their previous releases “Squad” and “Swoop It Up” proves that their musical talents and brotherly bond work hand and hand. Since his inception Vega HeartBreak has shed being “just” a producer and has added his savvy flow and smooth vocals to the equation. For years these two have consistently put out hit records, separately and as a team. The creation of their new single is an affirmation of their hard work and dedication to their craft.
