Miami lo-fi punk trio Las Nubes have shared their new single “Demonize”. The song stems from their upcoming split with fellow Miami band Palomino Blond out March 13th on BuFu Records. Inspired by the critically-acclaimed documentary, 13th, “Demonize” highlights the band’s textured blend of slow gazing vocals and crunchy guitars that feel akin to the greats of the ‘90s like The Breeders and Lush.
The track follows the release of Palomino Blond’s emotionally empowering single “Damage,” which can be heard here. Both sides of the split were recorded and mixed by Jonathan Nuñez of Miami heavy legends Torche and mastered by Zach Weeks at GodCity Studio. You can pre-order the split now via Bandcamp and find the tracklisting and artwork below.
Guitarist/Vocalist Ale Campos said on writing “Demonize”: “Contrary to usual Las Nubes writing methods, the lyrics for ‘Demonize’ were written first after watching 13th, a documentary on the criminalization of African Americans and the injustice of mass incarceration. The riffs poured out shortly after.”
