LA electro-pop trio FYOHNA have released their new single & lyric video “Pity Love,” available to stream now on YouTube, Spotify, and all DSPs worldwide. The track is their first of 2020, and follows their fall release of “Lie Down.”
“‘Pity Love’ is an attempt to capture the moment you see the light fading in a lover’s eyes,” the group says. “The moment when you dim and feel small because you believe you’re not enough. When someone you love is so good at making you feel bad, you learn to love to feel bad. Pity love is a pat on the back when you need to be held, it’s an under appreciated ‘I love you,’ it’s a standard you’ve been set up to never meet. This song is a reminder that no one is entitled to your love, it is a gift you get to give. There is always a way out. Love is collaboration not self contortion.”
FYOHNA is a numbpop trio from the wild edges of California—music of mountain trout and ash trees as much as it is music of flirtation and rejection. With rushing, sanguine production and vocals like four scoops of Cherry Garcia, the group’s new batch of glitterpop songs nourish and neutralize. Following the release of their 2017 EP, FYOHNA garnered attention of Bea Miller and Allie X, sharing the stage as an opening act for the pop icons.
