Halifax alt-pop duo Neon Dreams has released their new single “Walk Away,” available to stream on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and all DSPs worldwide. In support of the single, the group will embark on a headlining US run starting on March 4th and ending at SXSW. Neon Dreams has already seen a busy 2020, with the release of their single “Turn Back Now” (championed by Billboard) along with completing a headlining Canadian tour.
“We’ve been reminiscing over late 90s/early 2000s lately, and I remember I was obsessing over the chords the day before I brought them into the session from this old Kid Cudi song I heard when I was a kid it was called ‘Up Up And Away,’” says vocalist Frank Kadillac. “For some reason ‘Walk Away’ turned out to sound like an MGMT song when we dove into it with the drums, especially after my friend Nathan Ferraro started belting out that wild, anthemic melody…it was perfect.”
Neon Dreams spent their first few years pushing boundaries and experimenting with different musical styles. Despite amassing over 30 million streams, a gold single and accumulating an ever-growing fan base, something was missing. Neon Dreams needed to make a change, so frontman Frank Kadillac headed to a healing retreat in Sedona, Arizona, where he was encouraged to open up about his troubled childhood. The experience made Kadillac realize the power he holds as a songwriter, who has reached millions of listeners.
