U.K. band, Single By Sunday have shared their latest track “Debbie” alongside an official video for the infectious new single. Inspired by an internet transaction gone wrong, “Debbie” blends classic pop-punk tendencies with modern The 1975-esque vibes accented by bopping guitars. In the video, band members Josh, Jonny, Jack and James wear matching outfits accented by their signature hair colors, juxtaposed by a white background and contemporary imagery. The group also called upon their fans to participate in the clip, which finds them singing and dancing along with the band. “Debbie” is the latest in a string of upbeat singles from the band, following predecessors “Dear John” and “I Want You.” You can watch the video for “Debbie” here now and stream the track here.
The band has this to say about “Debbie”:
“Debbie is the track that proves on line shopping is not always as it should be. What should have a simple purchase of a pair of jeans turned out to be a ‘nod your head bop of a tune’. The short story is Jonny tried to buy some Jeans and got ripped off (her name really was Debbie).”
Since winning “Best Emerging International Artist” at Toronto Music Week in 2017, Single By Sunday have been crowned a torchbearer of the next generation of pop-punk in both the United Kingdom and North America. Formed in 2015, the three founding members, which include lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Josh Ladds, backing vocalist/lead guitarist Jonny Eakins, & bassist Jack Black all met at school and music college, with drummer James Madison joining midway through 2019. Signified by their vibrant blue, red, yellow and purple hair colors the band brings that same bright energy into everything they do. Building an extensive fanbase from their raucous live shows, they have amassed over 55k followers on Twitter and 36k on Instagram. Having toured extensively across the US and UK for the past 18 months, Single By Sunday are never ones to slow down and have more shows planned for later this year.
