Midnight Kids, Lunice and 220 Kid have remixed Dutch artist/producer San Holo’s “Honest” featuring alternative duo Broods. Released today by Astralwerks, the remix pack is available HERE.
Montreal-based producer/DJ Lunice, who co-founded TNGHT with Hudson Mohawke, brings exotic, nocturnal shadings to the song, using a mix of various tribal instruments on Omnisphere, while acclaimed U.K. artist 220 Kid ramps up the track’s inherent buoyancy. The Midnight Kids remix, which was released last month, was included in “The Hot 25” New Music Friday roundup from Dancing Astronaut, which noted, “[their rendition] keeps the heavenly sentiment of the original with different sweeping synths in pre-chorus.” DJ Times hailed it as “the perfect tune to lift our spirits.”
While San Holo initially conceived the song, “Honest” ultimately it became a collaborative effort with Broods’ Georgia Nott and San Holo’s co-writers, Kyle Shearer and Nate Campany, joining forces.
