Dead Lakes Share Video For New Single, “Paradise”

Seattle based Dead Lakes, who were announced as SharpTone Records’ newest signing earlier this month, have premiered “Paradise“, the second single and accompanying video from their forthcoming EP New Language, today with ROCK SOUND. Due for a May 1st release, the EP stakes a claim of ownership across multiple genres, from energized screamo to irresistible pop and R&B. It’s a bold sound, with huge appeal to any fan of The Neighbourhood, PVRIS, or Bring Me The Horizon.

“Paradise” is the second offering from Dead Lakes this year and showcases singer Sumner Peterson‘s powerful vocals as the band punch through another track full of hooks. “Pull me back because you’re my paradise / I’d swim in this water but it’s cold as ice,” Peterson laments in “Paradise,” an anthemic song with a huge chorus, about the battle to climb up from despair, even with a helping hand. Fans can check out the new video below.

“‘Paradise’ is about a time that I was going through when we first all moved out to Washington. I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and self-doubt and I wrote the song as a way to explain where my headspace was at the time to my friends and the people around me. I was at the bottom and people were trying to pull me up, but the anxiety had the best of me for a long stretch,” Peterson shares with Rock Sound, “Honestly though, my reality is kind of a paradise. I’ve got a great circle, a roof over my head, my dog. Sometimes I feel like your headspace can make you feel like paradise seems like you’re eternally stuck in a quarantine.”

Earlier this month, Dead Lakes debuted the first single from New Language, “Close 2 Me” ushering in a new era for the band. Fans can check out “Close 2 Me” here: https://shrptn.co/close2me
