Up-and-coming 18-year-old rapper, J.I. recently shared his latest track and video for “Proud Of Me.” The video currently has over 1.3 million views on YouTube and is on power rotation on the premier Hip Hop station, Hot 97. Last week the Crown Heights lyricist spoke to Billboard about the track – of his music Billboard says, “While rappers his age may yearn for instant gratification, he’s seeking to forge an unshakable bond that can withstand the test of time.” Check out the interview HERE.
Late last year the Brooklyn native released two mixtapes, Hood Life Krisis Vol. 1, which features his hit track, “Need Me,” (now at over 66 million streams) and Hood Life Krisis Vol. 2, which features “Love Scars” (now at over 27 million streams). Both mixtapes went on to land on Billboard’s Heatseekers.
