Denver, Colorado singer/songwriter and saxophonist, Nikki Giron has released her new single, “Do You Know What You Do To Me, My Love?”. The track, which can be heard now below, was originally written in a practice room at CU Denver and was purposefully released on National Red Rose Day, due to the influence that roses had on the music video.
The video for “Do You Know What You Do To Me, My Love?”, which was filmed at an original Victorian home in Pueblo, Colorado built in 1888, hosts elements of Old Hollywood with a scene inspired by Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
Of the video, Nikki said, “It was so hard to find a house with the original vintage furnishings that we could use, the Edgar Olin House had everything I wanted and more for this music video, the furniture was absolutely stunning and I feel so lucky I was able to find a place that let me film there.”
Nikki has always been influenced by vintage images, film and music. The new music video showcases the sultry and intimate vibes of this song as well as her love for Old Hollywood Glam. There is a beautiful juxtaposition between the modern song and the vintage inspired music video. Nikki’s goal was to find a way to incorporate vintage and retro elements but still keep a modernized sound.
“I am very inspired by love. Although I cannot always express love into words, I tried to make the instrumentation of the song sultry and intimate so I could bring the feeling of love through a different medium. I love producing and I never realized how much feeling I can bring without lyrics. In this song the lyrics semantically show how I feel but the production to me, has its own elements to represent love; therefore creating something that I hold very deep in my heart.”– Nikki Giron
