Today, The Greeting Committee have released the live video for “Gold Star.” Recorded live at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City earlier this year, the intimate, beautifully shot video can be seen now below. The track is taken from the band’s 2018 full-length album, This Is It.
Of the video, the band said, “Since we can’t be on the road and bring you our music in person, we wanted to give you a glimpse of a very special show we played earlier this year. Back in January, we played a sold-out show in our hometown of Kansas City. There we captured a special moment during our song “Gold Star” to close out an already wonderful night. We’re bummed we can’t be in front of everyone right now, but in the meantime, we hope you enjoy this!”
The Greeting Committee, made up of Addie Sartino (vocals), Brandon Yangmi (guitar), Pierce Turcotte (bass), and Austin Fraser (drums), deliver an undeniably original selection of songs that feel as intimate as a basement recording but unfold in intricate textures and melodic sophistication. While their 2018 debut full-length This Is It felt like a coming-of-age story in album form, its follow-up EP I’m Afraid I’m Not Angry tackles the trickier side of transitioning into adulthood with vulnerability and openheartedness. With her delicate yet powerful vocals, Sartino brings both dreamy sensitivity and wide-eyed wisdom to every track. Having already amassed over 35 million worldwide streams to date, the band are currently working on new music to release in 2020.
