Upcoming Houston alt rock trio JunkBunny have returned with their first single of 2020, “Another Summer Song,” out now via LAVA Records/Republic Records.
On “Another Summer Song,” JunkBunny offers a modern take on the spirit and attitude of nineties alternative rock with a hyper-charged energy of their own. The track’s pulsing beat charges forward with distorted guitars as an instantly-chantable chorus takes hold—reminiscent of early Green Day. The track could’ve easily played during the climax of your favorite turn-of-the-century teen movie, but it’s ultimately perfect for any summer soundtrack.
Of the inspiration behind their new single, JunkBunny says, “‘Another Summer Song’ came from a place of not wanting to spend the summer alone and not being able to share it with the people you love. One of our favorite times of year has always been when we can do dumb stuff in the summer with all our friends. We hope that this song makes people remember those vibes, and all the good times spent with friends in the summer.”
“Another Summer Song” is the follow up to JunkBunny’s debut EP Junk Rock and breakout single “Sedona” released last fall after opening for ZZ Top, The Struts and even Jon Bon Jovi. The EP was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, P.O.D.). The band recently debuted their live Junk Rock sessions shot from home—watch here.
Stay tuned for more from JunkBunny this summer!
