New York indie-pop singer/songwriter and producer Dylan Emmet has returned with a breezy new single “Nervous.” The song follows his recent features on Spotify’s New Music Friday in Sweden, and Fresh Finds Pop playlists, as well as multiple songs reaching the top 10 on the Hype Machine Popular Chart.
After finding out he had a two year old daughter he never knew about, Dylan began releasing a string of personal and self-revelatory songs documenting his journey, beginning with leaving Los Angeles to become an insta-dad in New York overnight. Currently living with his daughter back in upstate New York, Dylan has continued to successfully write and produce for multiple artists on both coasts by utilizing video chat and taking occasional month long trips to LA to write.
“Nervous” is the chilled out summery bop you need in your life right now. Tropical beats melt into an ocean of wavy guitars and synths. Dylan’s smooth vocals flow effortlessly into a gliding drop that will get your head nod going. Dylan explains the inspiration behind the track:
“Almost every time I’ve met someone I ended up falling in love with, I’ve gotten this feeling in our first few moments together that we would end up being a thing. Still, you can never be sure, so I will forever try and keep my cool. Nervous was all about capturing that feeling of panic and excitement when you’re falling for someone and are still trying to play it off like you’re not.”
