Stuck in the solitary confinement of quarantine, Loren Gray dreams of being alone with a special someone in the official video for her new single, “Alone.” Fans have been awaiting the clip ever since Loren dispelled dating rumors with the news that she and fellow social media star Tayler Holder were simply shooting a music video. Holder plays her ex. In the clip, Loren debuts a sophisticated, custom diamond look from Michael Costello. View “Alone” below.
“‘Alone’ is my favorite music video I’ve ever made,” says Loren Gray. “I went into it knowing I wanted to tell the story of ‘Alone’ with some stunning choreography and looks, and I think we made that magic happen. I hope my fans (my angels) love it as much I loved making it.”
Loren was recently featured on Forbes’ list of “TikTok’s 7 Highest-Earning Stars.” Flaunt Magazine – which recently caught up with her via Zoom – called her “an incredible singer-songwriter” and noted, “Her music is edgy, unapologetic, and empowering, creating her own lane of pop that’s honest and true to who she is down to the core.” She talks about “Alone,” recording at home and more in this feature. The Honey POP praised “Alone” as “a perfect song for quarantine” and Idolator hailed it as “a loved-up banger.”
Best Buy’s Back To School campaign for Lenovo Laptops features “Alone” in a “choose your own adventure” digital video series. The track, which is Loren’s first love song, is the second in a series of songs she recorded at home during quarantine. She wrote it with her “Cake” collaborators – The Wavys, who also produced, and Lilian Caputo and Elsa Curran.
Before she had even turned 18, Loren had racked up over 100 million cumulative global streams of her songs. Loren’s distinct brand of pop is built on the soul-baring honesty she’s always granted her fans – which include a following of nearly 80 million across her socials. Growing up in the Philadelphia area, Loren began playing piano at a young age and spent her childhood listening to everything from classic rock and country to heavy metal and hip-hop. At 15, she uprooted herself and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.
After cutting six records as an independent artist, Loren landed a deal with Virgin Records. In August 2018, she released “My Story,” which debuted at #1 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart. Loren, who featured on Lost Kings’ “Anti-Everything,” recently appeared in the official video for Taylor Swift’s “The Man” and Kim Petras’ celebrity-studded “Malibu” (At Home Edition) video. Loren’s unique sense of style has led to collaborations with Betsey Johnson and Forever 21.
