Moody Good and SLANDER are unleashing the official remix package for their thrashing, chill-inducing collab, “Heart Break.”
Near the end of 2019, the behemoth bass duo that is SLANDER entered in collaboration mode with UK legend Moody Good (formerly one-half of 16 BIT), as the two heavyweights made the call to join forces in the studio for the first time ever. The end result gave way to a romping chunk of glitched-out dubstep, “Heart Break,” backed by the arresting vocal delivery of esteemed singer/songwriter Karra. With the perfect blend of haunting vocal work and thrashing synth play, the tune found the perfect home on NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations imprint, with the word of its release being dropped mid-set during the latter’s exhilarating performance at the dinosaur-infested Lost Lands Festival. Since it hit digital shelves, the collab has gone on to amass over 1.2M streams on Spotify—and it is now ready to get a new lease on life via a proper remix package.
Clocking in at a whopping 10-track run, the ‘Heart Break’ remixes sees the two collaborators entrusting the stems to a highly qualified squad of like-minded artists from all across the bass music spectrum. The package is a nonstop burst of rail-rushing energy from top-to-bottom, featuring the biggest and brightest names that are dominating the digital dancefloors at the moment. From guttural riddim-driven mayhem to the more ethereal future-leaning booms, each interpretation injects its own unique DNA into the original’s genetic makeup to create 10 distinct crossbreeds at the hands of Oddprophet, Trampa, Akeos, Leotrix, Hukae and more. All in all, the ‘Heart Break’ (Remixes) effectively takes one of the most explosive releases from last year and reignites those overwhelming feelings we felt for it in the first place.
