    Saka Releases New “Slipstream” EP

    Saka Slipstream

Saka has released his debut EP, Slipstream, a six-track conceptual release on Bassrush Records.

Operating out of Los Angeles, Saka is a burgeoning bass talent that has been turning heads every step of the way. He first made his presence felt on the Bassrush catalog with a heady half-time cut on the most recent iteration of the ‘Prophecy’ compilation. Now, he’s returning to the fold with a full-fledged package that not only shines a light on the beat technician’s game-changing approach to music making, but also shows him shaping an EP around his skill for storytelling.

Across the six-track run, Saka creates a compelling narrative that takes us through the journey of “a girl who is ripped from her own timeline into a cyberpunk, dystopian, apocalyptic future.” As he maneuvers through various shades of leftfield bass, he causes a rush of adrenalize to spike up via complex rhythmic structures, wonky bass sequences, compelling chords, and a thrill-inducing experience from start to finish.

The EP has pulled early support from Dirtyphonics, Craze, The Upbeats, Lektrique, Willy Joy, and more. Elsewhere, his music has caught the attention of festival favorites, with previous plays on Alison Wonderland’s Radio Wonderland, NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations Radio, and a guest mix on Benzi’s Banguers (Diplo’s Sirius XM). While he continues to explore the experimental sides of trap, future bass, and dubstep, and everything in between, Saka is proving to be more than just a hidden gem in the left-field space.
