Westend is sliding over to the Insomniac Records catalog with his latest single, “Prickly Pear.”

Tyler Morris, otherwise known as Westend, is a New York-based house producer that truly knows his way around a fresh groove. In the past couple of years, he’s enjoyed multiple stints on Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION imprint, which originally materialized via his sleek three-track EP, ‘Clubble.’ Now, he’s ready to make his presence felt on Insomniac’s flagship label with his latest creation. Built around a deep and propulsive rhythm, “Prickly Pear” germinates seamlessly on the strength of throbbing synth swells, quirky flourishes, oscillating pads, and a beckoning vocal loops.

“I’m super stoked to make my debut on Insomniac Records!” says Westend. “I have loved working with the label on their IN/ROTATION imprint the past few years and really respect their team’s full commitment to the artist. This track has me branching out in some new directions and Insomniac has been fully supportive the whole time.”

Earlier this week, Westend snuck his new single into the middle of his set during the Insomniac Records hosted livestream on Insomniac TV. It has also garnered radio support elsewhere, including plays on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats Radio, JAUZ’s Bite This! Radio, and CID’s Night Service Only Radio. He’s also maintained a steady output of wonky grooves for a whole host of credible camps, such as Dirtybird, Solotoko, Techne, and more. On his Insomniac debut, however, he gently pivots into uncharted territory that shows him opting for a rolling tech vibe that is meant to transport the listener to a faraway place while still retaining its footing fully cemented in the dancefloor.
