18-year-old buzzing Chattanooga, TN rapper Slatt Zy has unleashed a new song and music video called “Heart Right” today.
Trap keys shine underneath rapid-fire verses before the emotional chorus practically bleeds out emotion. The upbeat production belies the intensity of his confessional rhymes as he sings, “Can’t tell me ‘bout the hard life,” on the hook. Directed by Ben Searles, the accompanying video shows his unfiltered life. The clip follows him back to his hometown, intercutting colorful real-life scenes of his family and friends with intimate black-and-white performance footage.
Most importantly, it paves the ay for more to come as Slatt Zy readies his next project for release soon.
Just last week, he dropped “How It Go” [feat. Hotboii], and the music video has already amassed over 320K YouTube views and counting.
Slatt Zy has quietly affirmed himself as the next contender from Chattanooga. Lyrical Lemonade predicted, “2020 is looking like it will be a huge year for the teenage rapper and we are very excited to see this begin to manifest for Slatt Zy.” He fulfilled that prediction with his project Zy Story, yielding “Remorse” and “Love Is Gone.”
Slatt Zy hails from a musical family (with 11 brothers and sisters) and prides himself as a rapper that can sing and freestyle with an incredible worth ethic. In less than a year Slatt Zy has released not only Zy Story but over 10 music videos. With early support from HOTNEWHIPHOP, WORLDSTARHIPHOP, SAY CHEESE!, LYRICAL LEMONADE, and ELEVATOR MAGAZINE, he’s well on his way to rap stardom turning his life struggles into art.
