Cleveland-based Pop/Hip-Hop upstarts, .wavrunner got the party started today with the release of their debut single “uh huh, i like it”. This first offering sets the tone for this group’s unique brand of dance floor anthems – seamlessly blending classic west coast hip-hop funk with influences spanning the history of the earliest stages of club music with today’s modern viral chart mainstays. As we move into the home stretch of a tumultuous 2020, .wavrunner is the young, chaotic, fun, and unapologetically ambitious distraction that the world needs.
According to .wavrunner: “We’re not gonna apologize for having fun, even during these crazy-as-fuck times we’re all living in. You can laugh with us or you can laugh at us, but as long as you’re laughing, we’re good!”
While the members of .wavrunner – Jack Wesley, Griff, and JJ – are just getting their careers started, they’ve already attracted the attention of a myriad of tastemakers. “uh huh, i like it” was produced by highly touted producer, Paul Meany (Twenty One Pilots, Walk The Moon, LANY), and mixed by Joe Grasso (“Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X f/ Billy Ray Cyrus, “July” by Noah Cyrus, “Pop Out Again” by Polo G). They also caught the attention of the team at Elevation Recording Group who signed them to a management deal. While “uh huh, i like it” sets the bar high, there is no doubt that .wavrunner will only build from here.
