Lil Moe 6Blocka Shares “Risky” Featuring 22Gz

Chicago rap prodigy Lil Moe 6Blocka returns today with a vigorous new single, “Risky,” assisted by the Brooklyn drill innovator 22Gz. The song and its accompanying video find Moe eviscerating doubters and recounting his rags-to-riches story over menacing piano and room-rattling bass. Listen HERE and watch the clip below.

“My personality is Risky,” says Moe describing the single, “if you hang around me in my environment, you’ll see that I’m one of a kind.”

“Risky” showcases Lil Moe 6Blocka’s clever lines and a delivery that’s equal parts inviting and sinister. “Don’t jump in that water, you swimming with gators,” he raps, warning off any who would dare cross him. Moe hints at his tough upbringing on the cold, hostile streets of Chicago—where he dealt with bouts of homelessness and the death of dear friends—but he also celebrates his come-up. The video, directed and produced by Moe’s manager Billy Kauck, was shot in Atlanta and features both Moe and 22Gz partying in a mansion with Moe’s crew, outfitted in Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

The single is the latest in a string of exciting new releases from Moe, and another example of how the teen is capturing the imagination of his city. Thoughtful, intense songs like “What I Say” and “Ion Know” have inspired tastemaking platforms like Lyrical Lemonade and Daily Chiefers to name Moe among the region’s hottest rising underground rappers. Though he’s only 15 years old, Moe’s videos already routinely rack up millions of views. He’s the voice of a new generation of Chicago rappers—a bridge between the drill scene that dominated the landscape in the 2010s and the next crew of superstars primed to take over the Windy City. If songs like “Risky” are any indication, Moe is poised to lead the way in the years to come.
