Legendary duo Hermitude have remixed Australian indie-electronic trio Crooked Colours’ latest single “Light Year.” The original track featured RIAA Certified Platinum artist Masked Wolf and viral rap sensation Jasiah. Known for their widely popular remixes, Hermitude’s spin brings a completely new energy and interpretation of the genre-bending single. Listen to the remix now below.
Crooked Colours have quickly earned applause as one of Australia’s hottest new electronic acts, racking up over 200M worldwide streams thus far with show-stealing festival performances around the globe and such increasingly popular tracks as “No Sleep,” “Falling,” “Love Language,” and of course, their 2017 breakthrough smash, “Flow.” Hailed by EDM.com for their “harmonious blend of indie, house, and pop,” the Fremantle, Western Australia-based trio – Phil Slabber (vocals, guitar, production), Leon Debaughn (keys, production), and Liam Merrett-Park (drums) – fuse delicate acoustic instrumentation, evocative vocals, upbeat lyricism, and dancefloor-ready synth transmissions to create a dynamic, shape-shifting sound all their own. Having earned worldwide critical applause and an ever-growing fan following, Crooked Colours spent much of last year’s lockdown at home in Fremantle, hard at work crafting their eagerly awaited Atlantic Records debut album.
“We’ve grown into our sound,” says Liam Merrett-Park. “We’ve really become a band together, so the music comes out naturally. There’s a cohesive direction and we’re able to bring both sides of what we do.”
“There’s a lot of hate and shit going on the world,” says Debaughn. “Everything is so tense, we just want you to feel good.”
