Returning with a bang, critically acclaimed Cleveland rapper Doe Boy has unleashed his anxiously anticipated new album, OH REALLY, today. This marks his first full-length release since the collaborative Demons R Us with Southside in 2020.
To celebrate the project’s arrival, he just dropped the music video for the new single and opener “BIG OH REALLY.” Over a skittering beat, he leans into a fiery flow punctuated by airtight rhymes.
Elsewhere, 808s grind against ominous piano on “3AM IN LA” between samples of a news report on the uptick of Ohio gang violence. On “OPP PARTY” [feat. Nardo Wick & G Herbo], he launches into a vicious cadence before Nardo Wick and G Herbo pull up with incendiary cameos of their own. Moneybagg Yo blesses “BOFFUM” with his presence, making for yet another anthem together. Then, there’s “REAL RECOGNIZE REAL” [feat. Roddy Ricch]. A soulful hook resounds as Roddy’s delivery proves both magnetic and melodic all at once. “CRY FOR ME” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] represents an emotional apex. Doe Boy’s confessional bars give way to a smooth and emotionally charged refrain from Ty. Finally, heavenly guitar underscores “SNATCH YO SOUL,” capturing raw longing in his woozy tone.
Last year, he set the stage for the project with a string of bangers. “LOW KEY” [feat. Lil Uzi Vert] check out his acoustic Fine-Tuned performance on Audiomack. On its heels, “AIN’T MY FAULT” [feat. 42 Dugg] with Rowdy Rebel cracked 1.3 million YouTube views on the music video. It also boasts “ONNA HOOD” [feat. Babyface Ray], which attracted widespread critical acclaim.
OH REALLY ignites what promises to be a massive year for Doe Boy.
