Melancholic Post-Hardcore quartet Abyss, Watching Me, led by YouTuber Egor Erushin, have returned with new music in the form of “Losing” after a 5-year Hiatus. “Losing” centers around leaving toxic relationships behind.
Egor notes, “We haven’t released a full-length record since 2017, and the release of this single starts our first album cycle in 5 years. This is by far the most mature and intimate record we’ve done, and Losing reflects that perfectly. There’s a lot of pain in this whole album, but also a lot of strength and hope for better days – and I feel like that’s what everyone needs in this day and age.”
“Losing” was written during AWM’s hiatus between 2017 and 2021 but was produced in 2021 by AWM guitar player Vaclav Becvar and was mixed & mastered by Kirill Konyaev. The song and their upcoming album mark the first time Egor not only performs as a singer in recorded media but also takes up guitar duties. The music video took only 3 days to shoot and edit and was made by Prague-based director Mateo Tazky.
