Long Island indie/alt outfit Local Nomad and soul pop trio The Shadowboxers have released the official music video for their single “Lonely”. The song discusses the challenges of isolation during 2020 when the pandemic first took over the world, and its video depicts Local Nomad in the midst of a relationship’s end. It is only when The Shadowboxers call him that he begins to live his life again. “Lonely” will be featured on Local Nomad’s upcoming EP Stranger in My Hometown, out March 31st.
“My manager sent me a track and asked me if I would be interested in singing a song Adam Hoffman from The Shadowboxers had written,” says Michael Desmond (aka Local Nomad). “The first time I heard it I was immediately hooked. I feel like this song was meant for me. I had just moved out of New York to Charleston, South Carolina and I began to really identify with the concept of the song.”
After years of successful touring in the Warped scene, Mike Desmond returned in 2020 as Local Nomad – a blue-eyed soul-dipped crooner, whose narrative lyrics combine with inviting elements of the future. As an independent artist, he’s amassed several million streams on Spotify, and been championed by outlets like SPIN, Under the Radar, Flaunt Magazine, Atwood Magazine, & many others.
Fans can expect another single and music video ahead of the upcoming EP release.
