Songstress Lyn Lapid has returned with her latest single, “I Guess That Was Goodbye”. Inspired by the heartache that results in not being able to say goodbye to a special person and produced by Wendy Wang (Tori Kelly, Nick Jonas, Terror Jr), the song is a gorgeous ballad complete with orchestral strings that lift Lyn’s signature ethereal vocals to a whole new level. Lyn first teased the track on TikTok, where it has amassed hundreds of thousands of views and quickly become a favorite amongst her fans.
Lyn says, “We all have that one person who we didn’t get enough time with before they left. For me, that person was multiple people: my old high school friends. Last August when I was doing writing sessions in LA, my friends were all back home in Maryland saying goodbye to each other before they moved away for college. I never got to say goodbye to them in person because I was away, and when I returned to Maryland, they were all gone. I feel like a lot of people can relate to the bittersweet feeling of an abrupt goodbye.”
The breakout singer and songwriter is currently on tour with Korean-American pop artist Eric Nam—see the list of upcoming dates below. In the fall, Lyn made her live performance debut supporting Claire Rosinkranz on tour across the US.
“I Guess That Was Goodbye” follows Lyn’s viral 2021 single “In My Mind,” which peaked at #8 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 Chart, #6 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 Chart, and #4 on TikTok’s US Top Tracks. The song sets the stage for more new music and exciting news to come from Lyn this spring!
