TWERL & Team EZY Join Forces on “Break My Mind”

TWERL and Team EZY have teamed up on their new collab, “Break My Mind,” a high-tech mindbender pulled from the seventh season of releases for NIGHTMODE.

Inserting itself into the futuristic soundscape of the cyberpunk universe, the new single from this pair of boundary-pushing producers is fully capable of short-circuiting the consciousness of humanoids, cyborgs, man, machine, and everything in-between. “Break My Mind” sets its tone through twinkling melodies, which hold their shimmer as ethereal atmospherics and dreamy, pitch-shifting vocals fuse together into pure euphoria. A stunning flow of breakbeat percussion then rushes in, triggering a series of head-spinning transitions. Jumping from sharp 808 patterns and hardwave synths to the galloping basslines fueling the short-lived switch-up, the track encapsulates both producer’s constant need to stay ahead of the curve.

“This song started last year, shortly after Team EZY and I met up at a festival in Indonesia. We intended to take the listeners on a journey through the cyberpunk realm, breaking their mind apart with unexpected surprises.” –TWERL

Pulling up from Western Australia, Jayden Healey has been ripping through the dance space with a maelstrom of tracks that continue to spiral up and down the bass spectrum. His vortex of fluid sounds has seen him flit between a whole host of genres, including his moody wave collab “Night Rider” with Heimanu, the earth-shattering left-field trap cut “Space Rave” alongside Avance, and, most recently, the melancholic ménage à trois “Pain” he brought out beside SLUMBERJACK and josh pan.

Holding it down for the opposite hemisphere, the forward-thinking artist Drew Gold takes his place as the other half of the equation. The L.A-grown producer is the brains behind the Team EZY operation, a single-man squad who has been on a four-year hiatus after dropping a string of remixes for X&G, Mija & Vindata and Kill The Noise. He originally caught his big break from a highly coveted collab with Skrillex on their track “Pretty Bye Bye,” a massive debut release that dropped while Gold was heading up the A&R efforts at OWSLA.

With TWERL and Team EZY combining their genre-blurring strengths on their new “Break My Mind” single for NIGHTMODE, you can expect plenty of heads to implode once this mind maze of a track starts to officially make the rounds this festival season.
